Beyond Racing Ltd was established by a group of Racing Victoria acknowledged racehorse retrainers who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of retired racehorses. The founding members Lyn Shand, Lisa North and Lou Abey all have extensive experience with thoroughbreds and decided more could be done to support these wonderful animals in their retirement once their racing days are over.

Beyond Racing Ltd (ABN 80 639 431 146) is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and is endorsed as a deductible gift recipient by the Australian Taxation Office.  The objective of Beyond Racing is to promote the versatility and adaptability of racehorses for other equestrian activities following their retirement from racing. It also protects horse welfare through a nationwide ‘safety net’ that is available to assist any former racehorse considered ‘vulnerable’. In such cases, the charity provides funding for the provision of expert care, retraining and rehabilitation prior to suitable rehoming.
