Elvis the 'Dude' (Racing Name - Barman) is a 4 year old TB chestnut gelding, 16.0 hands. Retired after 4 starts and has been in a retraining program since February 2020.

Temperament

The Dude, as his 'pet' name suggests has the most wonderful temperament and is very much an old man's head on a young man's shoulders. He is very level headed and mature for such a young horse with an amazing can-do attitude. He is a real smooch and loves fuss, cuddles and attention. He came completely green and unbalanced but has developed in leaps and bounds. He now has 3 lovely paces and is progressing with some lateral work including leg-yielding and shoulder-in.  Elvis shows a real aptitude towards show jumping with the beginnings of an adjustable canter. ​

Rider Experience Level

Elvis has been taken to a local adult riders club for outings where he behaved impeccably.  He has been trail ridden in company and on his own where nothing much phases him. He would suit a variety of riders including a teenage looking for their first transition to a horse. He has been ridden by a beginner novice rider and been delightful but to get the best out of him, he would benefit from going to a knowledgeable home, or a home with someone who is keen to continue his education. In the right hands, he is a horse that would excel in any discipline.
